In 2009 UCD business and law student Elaine established PizzaParties.ie.
Elaine, being passionate about food and healthy eating has spent time at
Darina Allen's Ballymaloe Cookery School, as well as completing several
cookery courses. She has won various accolades for her skills including
awards and the publishing of some of her own recipes. Being exposed to all sorts of food from a young age
herself and having parents willing enough to let her experiment in the
kitchen she is mainly self taught and wants to spread the message of how
important and simple it is to cook delicious satisfying food.
In making their own pizzas, children
who take part in the sessions will appreciate how food is made and
get a sense of self satisfaction which it is hoped will give them
the confidence and inspiration to develop their skills in the
kitchen. Similarly, it is hoped that a curiosity to learn more will
be roused in adults who take part in sessions.
Originally Dublin based, the business now also has a base in
Limerick.
As a side hobby, Elaine also writes her own food blog-The
Amateur Critic, reviewing restaurants around Ireland and abroad.
